july 25 -- a test
July 20 -- LIGHTNING!
Worked hard for this one...not as happy as I thought I would be. But of all the shots, this is the only one that actually contained lightning. So it is by default, "THE" shot.
July 19 -- Make a wish!
After our second day at Quemado Lake, we drove to another campground in the Cibola National Forest. We drove via Forest Roads and it was a great day! And I have too many pictures that I LOVE. I decided on these two, and it will have to do.
July 18 -- a walk by the lake
We stayed two nights at Quemado Lake, in the Apache National Forest. The day between the two nights we hiked around the lake.
July 17 -- Crazy Bird
This is my crazy African Grey Parrot. He is not too creatively named Big Bird. I was cleaning his cage in preparation for our 4 day 3 night camping trip, and decided to snap a few photos. He is always curious with shiny things, and really seemed enamored with the camera!
July 16
Broad Leaf Philodendron
This sucker is going to turn my living room into a jungle!
It keeps growing and growing and growing and............
(Currently in a gigantic 24 inch pot!)
July 15 -- Sans Photo
So, I didn't take a photo today. It was HOT outside, and my inside is too dirty to photograph. So here is a song I love. I own no copyrights, just sharing.
Thanks Anna Nalick "Breathe"
2 AM and she calls me 'cause I'm still awake,
"Can you help me unravel my latest mistake?,
I don't love him. Winter just wasn't my season"
Yeah we walk through the doors, so accusing their eyes
Like they have any right at all to criticize,
Hypocrites. You're all here for the very same reason
'Cause you can't jump the track, we're like cars on a cable
And life's like an hourglass, glued to the table
No one can find the rewind button, girl.
So cradle your head in your hands
And breathe... just breathe,
Oh breathe, just breathe
May he turned 21 on the base at Fort Bliss
"Just a day" he said down to the flask in his fist,
"Ain't been sober, since maybe October of last year."
Here in town you can tell he's been down for a while,
But, my God, it's so beautiful when the boy smiles,
Wanna hold him. Maybe I'll just sing about it.
Cause you can't jump the track, we're like cars on a cable,
And life's like an hourglass, glued to the table.
No one can find the rewind button, boys,
So cradle your head in your hands,
And breathe... just breathe,
Oh breathe, just breathe
There's a light at each end of this tunnel,
You shout 'cause you're just as far in as you'll ever be out
And these mistakes you've made, you'll just make them again
If you only try turning around.
2 AM and I'm still awake, writing a song
If I get it all down on paper, it's no longer inside of me,
Threatening the life it belongs to
And I feel like I'm naked in front of the crowd
Cause these words are my diary, screaming out loud
And I know that you'll use them, however you want to
But you can't jump the track, we're like cars on a cable,
And life's like an hourglass, glued to the table
No one can find the rewind button now
Sing it if you understand.
and breathe, just breathe
woah breathe, just breathe,
Oh breathe, just breathe,
Oh breathe, just breathe.

July 5th -- Fun With Sparklers
July 4th -- Outside, Looking In
It's the 4th of July. The day of our nations Independence. I figured everyone would expect pictures of fireworks. I didn't go watch any fireworks. So, this will have to do. A self portrait of sorts. A picture of my kitchen window, taken from outside, looking in. Many of my pictures are taken in my backyard, as is this one. I'm trying to learn to love my world, what immediately surrounds me. At the same time learning what my camera can do, what I can do with my camera. It is my independence from myself: from my willingness to let everyday just flow by, without having any say at all over it at all. This is me, learning what it is I love about me.
July 3rd
Today I saw a bumper sticker, of sorts, on a pick up truck that made me very angry. This truck was parked outside the storage unit that A. and I use. It belongs to the owner of the unit. I really just want to go get all my stuff out of it, and not give them another dime. I get that people can dislike the president. But seriously, the oil spill in the gulf is not this presidents fault. I wish he would have done more sooner. I wish a lot of things. Lets start with not driving a gas guzzling, oil hogging vehicle. Thats a good start. Asshole.
